Top Local Issues
This course covers top local issues from national to seemingly micro-issues. We then turn to case studies of how prominent companies have designed solutions to issues.
Module 1
This module will focus primarily on national issues within the United States. Issues will span politics, government, immigration, crime, unemployment, minimum wage, racism, and income/wealth distribution.
Module 2
This module will dive into seemingly micro-issues. Example micro issues are:
- Figuring out what to do with your career
- Connecting with friends
- Searching for information
- Getting from one location to another
We will allude to solutions in this module, but not go in depth.
Module 3
This module will focus on solutions to seemingly micro-issues and micro-problems. We will review case studies of how huge companies solved the small problems. Examples will include connecting with friends (Facebook), searching for information (Google), and ordering transportation (Uber). We will explore the trajectory of these companies and how they started small. The connection between these micro-issues and entrepreneurship (starting small short-term and growing the business into solving a larger problem) will be made.
